Air Faeries

Air is the element of all winged faeries, whose energies are subtle, quick and flowing. They are creatures of ambition and perfection, flying between worlds. All storms and winds are associated with air faeries, gentle breezes to monsoons. Their method of movement is graceful and almost effortless, launched forward by thought and emotion instead of the whirr of engines or the flapping of wings. Air faeries are in general an evolved faerie form, because they bring together aspects of all four basic elements. The wings are symbolic of air, their human or animal legs of earth, their shimmering, radiant quality is fire, and the fluid aspect of shape shifting is water

HOW SHE BEGAN

Her head with what the factory considers a completed 'face up'

Then I sent her to Michele Hardy who does lovely face ups......
as I really didn't want to experiment on her.

But this one felt special to me and I thought it might be best to leave it to
an experienced artist.

Here she is with her face up done and eyes in place. No upper lashes added at this point

and here she is with a pink wig and her lashes done.
and by changing her eyes a bit

Two distinct personalities.

That is just part of the appeal of these ball jointed dolls.
~~~~~~~~
The tiny Obitsu (Olivia) was one thing. And, sure, she
came out quite well.......
I especially had great success with creating her wig
and will absolutely do another 27cm obitsu
Thank you for visiting my blog this morning - I just LOVE this fairy with her fabulous pink hair. May I paint her portrait??? I'm backed up here a bit but I always do small ACEOs on the weekend. She'd be a sensation, I'm sure!
I'm bookmarking to come back again.
Okay, I couldn't wait. I was so inspired by your dolls today that I just had to paint a faerie!
I'd love your opinion:
How is it that I have just discovered this blog. Or did I lose my mind or memory or what when I had the knock down with the mower? I do remember seeing some of this but today I'm enjoying it again. I tell you, it makes me want to play dolls with you for sure.
have i stumbled upon a secret glen somewhere at the bottom of the garden?
i am almost afraid to speak fearful i might scare them away. So beautiful ::sigh::
... the little gown i think was made by tiny mice? Yes, i knew there was something happening somewhere among the community. All that rustling about. I knew it must be special.
